“The porn industry can’t have it both ways,” says AHF’s Michael Weinstein. “They can’t oppose condoms and ignore the law and then turn around and claim that no other infections occurred in this instance because condoms were used. This puts the lie to the industry’s entire argument against condoms.”

The Adult Production Health & Safety Services (APHSS.org), the industry-backed group whose mission is “…to ensure a safe and healthy work environment of performers and adult film professionals,” revealed today that another adult film performer tested positive for HIV while also claiming that no further infections occurred as the infected performer worked exclusively on condom-only productions

LOS ANGELES (June 14, 2013)⎯The Adult Production Health & Safety Services (APHSS.org), the industry-backed group whose mission is “…to ensure a safe and healthy work environment of performers and adult film professionals,” today revealed that another adult film performer tested positive for HIV. However, according to a news post on the website XBIZ.com, “The performer, according to APHSS.org, worked exclusively on condom-only productions,” and therefore it was unlikely than any further transmission of the virus to other performers occurred.

AVN.com, another website that follows the adult film industry, further reported APHSS as claiming, “As a precautionary measure, APHSS is providing retests for the small number of performers with which the infected individual had performed. All retests have come back negative and there is no indication that any transmission — including that of the positive performer — happened on set.”

While the performer’s identity and sex were not disclosed, XBIZ reported “…multiple sources say that it was a male gay porn performer who tested positive for HIV,” who was understood to be working on a shoot for Men.com, which is owned and operated by Manwin. Men.com’s shoots are condom-only.

“The porn industry can’t have it both ways,” says AHF’s Michael Weinstein. “They can’t oppose condoms and ignore the law and then turn around and claim that no other infections occurred in this instance because condoms were used. This puts the lie to the industry’s entire argument against condoms.”
